Panel Carpenter | Croft | Rockland, Maine | Full-time
At Croft, we produce panelized prefab buildings from natural materials. We're half design firm, half production powerhouse, and we're growing fast.
We're looking for a skilled Panel Carpenter — someone who takes genuine pride in their work delivering healthy housing each day, brings curiosity and problem-solving energy to the shop floor, and cares about contributing to a better building industry and a better world. Croft’s panel carpenters produce high-performance building panels at our Rockland facility — framing, insulating, and air-sealing panelized assemblies that are the literal building blocks for all types of projects.
What you'll do:
• Fabricate building panels at our Rockland facility — framing, squaring, sheathing, insulating, and air-sealing efficiently and to stated tolerances
• Read and interpret shop drawings and cut lists; raise questions early and communicate proactively with PMs and designers
• Handle materials, support shop organization, and maintain a clean, safe work environment
• Travel to job sites as needed to assist with installation and punch list completion
• Contribute to team meetings, continuous improvement conversations, and a shop culture built on humility and learning
What we're looking for:
• Minimum 2 years of carpentry experience (relevant trade programs or certifications may substitute)
• Ability to read architectural and construction drawings and execute to stated project tolerances
• Comfort with general carpentry tools and a safety-first mindset
• A productive and solutions-oriented mindset
• Willingness to travel occasionally for on-site work
• Familiarity with Passive House or high-performance building is a plus; forklift/telehandler certification is a plus (training available)
What we offer:
Compensation: $23-35 DOE
A chance to do genuinely meaningful work in a shop full of people who give a damn
Hands-on learning, mentorship, and room to grow your technical fluency over time
A company dedicated to regenerative building — and the people doing it!
To apply: Send your resume and a note about yourself. We'd love to hear what draws you to this kind of work.
