Production Manager — Timberwoods Mushroom Farm ($20-$23 hourly to start [DOE] with increase potential after 90-day trial period)

Timberwoods Mushroom Farm is a small, family-owned operation producing high-quality gourmet mushrooms. We are seeking a conscientious, reliable, and hands-on Production Manager to join our operations.
This role encompasses all aspects of mushroom production, from substrate preparation through harvesting, packaging, and mushroom jerky production. Working in conjunction with the Operations Manager, the Production Manager supports a small team and helps keep day-to-day on-site operations running smoothly.
This position is generally Monday through Friday, with some rotating evening and/or weekend responsibilities. While the Operations Manager works in a hybrid/remote capacity, this role requires close collaboration with both on-site staff and remote owners/managers to ensure clear communication and consistent production standards.
Responsibilities:
Oversee harvest activities, coordinating with the production team to harvest, trim, and package fresh mushrooms. In addition to overseeing fresh mushroom production, you will also oversee and participate in the mushroom jerky production and packaging procedure.
Manage and participate in substrate mixing, bagging, and sterilization.
Oversee and participate in the inoculation process.
Maintain grow rooms in accordance with sanitation protocols.
Monitor mushroom development and environmental conditions.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and workflow in production areas and the commercial kitchen.
Follow safety and quality procedures consistently.
Support general farm and facility tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
Ideally has Mushroom cultivation or related field experience
Ability to lift 40+ lbs and perform repetitive physical tasks
Comfortable working in varied temperature conditions (warm, humid grow rooms and ambient-temperature barn spaces)
Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
Dependable, punctual, and capable of working independently or as part of a team
Comfortable working and maintaining data in a mushroom-growing software application
Strong communication skills with hybrid and remote team leaders
Preferred (but not required) Experience:
Farm, warehouse, or production
Construction, carpentry, or electrical work experience
Wood processing and/or knowledge of outdoor wood-burning furnaces
