OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION
The Clinician II shall be responsible to oversee the clinical supports provided within the Mental Health and Clinical Department to adults with disabilities of all ages who need assistance to lead self-directed lives and contribute to their communities; and need supports that enhance inclusion in their communities.
The Clinician II shall understand that people requiring support that have one disability, such as mental illness, can also have another disability, such as a substance use disorder, cognitive disability, or a medical condition. These conditions are called co-occurring disorders. The Clinician II shall promote OHI’s welcoming and effective provision of supports to such people.
The Clinician II shall approach service provision from a trauma-informed perspective. The Clinician II shall ensure all staff working in OHI’s Mental Health Services understand the impact trauma can play in the development of coping mechanisms and take this history into account while providing support. The Clinician II shall understand the value of employment and/or volunteerism to those supported by OHI and shall ensure employment/volunteerism is addressed in the assessment and treatment planning process.
QUALIFICATIONS
The Clinician II shall have the following a Master’s Degree in a human service related field; LCSW or LCPC licensure or eligibility to obtain such; licensure as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor or eligibility to obtain such; three years’ experience in the provision of clinical supervision preferred; demonstrated ability to work with people with mental illness, substance use, trauma histories and/or intellectual disabilities; basic knowledge of fiscal management, accounting, and internal control procedures; ability to work a flexible schedule; crisis prevention, intervention and teaching experiences; and a valid Maine driver’s license. The Clinician II shall have or acquire and maintain LOCUS certification.
The Clinician II shall obtain and maintain PACT training. The Clinician II shall be medically cleared and fit tested for an N95 respirator and shall maintain required vaccinations and immunizations. The Clinician II shall be an approved driver for OHI.
