RSU 39 is accepting applications from qualified candidates for the position of
Assistant Principal at
Caribou Community School, a PreK–7 school serving approximately 700 students.
The Assistant Principal will work closely with the Principal and leadership team to support a safe, positive learning environment for all students. This position will have a primary focus on
student behavior, school climate, and student support, as well as
direct supervision of Educational Technicians, including coordination of their professional development and support.

Qualifications
The successful candidate must:
- Hold, or be eligible to obtain, Maine Department of Education 045 Assistant Building Administrator Certification
- Have a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience
- Building-level leadership experience preferred

Student Support & Discipline
- Leads and supports school-wide discipline practices
- Promotes restorative and fair disciplinary processes
- Builds strong, positive relationships with students
- Supports proactive approaches to student behavior and engagement
- Works collaboratively with staff to address student needs
Staff Relations
- Serves as the direct supervisor for Educational Technicians
- Coordinates and supports professional development opportunities for Ed Tech staff
- Provides coaching, guidance, and feedback to support staff growth
- Builds trust and maintains strong communication with all staff
- Encourages teamwork and collaboration across classrooms and programs
Parent & Community Relations
- Communicates clearly and professionally with families
- Addresses concerns related to student behavior and school climate
- Builds positive relationships with parents and community members
School Operations
- Supports the Principal in daily school operations
- Assists in implementing school procedures and expectations
- Collaborates with staff to ensure a safe and effective learning environment
