Job Summary:
The Community Response Coordinator will help community organizations work together to respond to emerging, and unmet needs. The community-based position will work with multi-sector partners, volunteers, and the community to manage and create systems to help organizations align activities and resources; connect partners to training and education; strengthen communication and collaboration; and increase community capacity. This position will work closely with the service providers, businesses, and local leaders to implement a coordinated community response. Emerging community needs will determine project scope with multiple projects running concurrently. Currently, the work focuses on supporting Connecting to Tomorrow and the Brunswick New Mainers Initiative.
Essential Responsibilities:
Partner Support, Communication, Coordination, and Convening
·Convene partners, volunteers, and community members in response to emerging needs while building and developing relationships to advance Initiative goals.
·Identify, cultivate, and steward Initiative project teams, and provide opportunities and support for those whose voices are typically less represented and/or closest to the needs being addressed.
·Implement a strong communications strategy to ensure project information is transparent and accessible, striving to help partners work effectively together, and educating the broader community on the work of the Initiatives. This includes constituent communications, press releases, marketing materials, and social media content.
·Advocate with partners to secure resources and build capacity that supports the project’s vision, goals, and strategies.
·Manage and convene subcommittees and smaller working groups that support the projects with an emphasis on shared leadership.
·Develop and manage the project’s work plan, providing content and strategic support, establishing timelines, ensuring accountability for achieving goals, and reporting progress to partners and funders.
·Develop, implement, and manage an effective system for data collection and evaluation, including tracking progress toward key results and reporting to funders, partners, and community members.
·Participate in fundraising activities including identifying and writing grant proposals and supporting United Way’s campaign efforts.
·Manage all grants, budgets, projects, and interns related to the Initiative.
Provider Training and Community Education
•Identify, develop, and coordinate partner and community stakeholder training and educational opportunities.
•Collect and share resources and educational materials with partners and volunteers to support project goals.
General Responsibilities
·Responsible for the day-to-day management of projects, grants, committees, and volunteers of the Initiatives.
•Maintain strict privacy and confidentiality of sensitive information.
·Support an organizational culture of integrity, transparency, service, and professionalism by modeling behavior consistent with the mission and purpose of the United Way.
·Participate in organizational strategic planning, monitoring, and evaluation.
·As part of a small staff team, support the work of the organization and other staff as needed, including other duties as assigned.

•Demonstrated experience in volunteer coordination and management.
•Grant and budget management experience preferred.
•Preferred experience with and knowledge of local non-profit programs and services.
•Preferred experience working with youth and/or individuals who experience socio-economic, racial, or mental health barriers and stigmas. A working knowledge of the complex systems and barriers that exist, and systems-level strategies needed for youth and New Mainers to thrive.
•Preferred experience working with individuals and families who have experienced marginalization such as those who have moved to the U.S., those who have experienced financial instability, those of differing abilities, etc. and knowledge of the associated systems and barriers they need to navigate.
