Special Education Teacher
RSU 1 seeks a Special Education Teacher to work at Morse High School beginning with the 2026-2027 school year. Assignments may include direct instruction in resource classes and/or a variety of academic subjects, co-teaching with general education teachers and/or direct instruction in guided production classes (with a focus on teaching executive functioning skills and other study support skills).
Qualifications

- A passion for teaching and supporting exceptional students
- An ability to build relationships with students of all academic and behavioral presentations that is founded in mutual respect
- Strong collaborative skills to work closely and productively with other special education teachers, general education teachers, school counselors, social workers, and administrative staff
- Expertise in adapting and modifying general education curriculum so that it is accessible to students with different specific learning needs
- Strong case management skills (including collaboration with families and ability to successfully complete special education paperwork)

- Teacher of Students with Disabilities Teaching Certificate (7-12) (282)
- Current Criminal History Records Check (CHRC)
