Registered Nurse (RN) – Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Location: Central Maine Medical Center, Lewiston, ME
Full-time | Nights | 7p–7a | 12-Hour Shifts
The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers safe, patient-centered care utilizing the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) in the ICU. Provides direct patient care and is accountable for assigned patients in a high-acuity environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care to critically ill patients
- Perform hemodynamic monitoring and assess clinical status and treatment response
- Communicate changes in condition, abnormal results, and symptomatology to physicians
- Administer medications, IV therapy, sedation, and vasoactive drips
- Guide patient/family education and support nursing staff
- Respond rapidly to changes in condition and emergencies
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure HIPAA compliance
Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. Current and valid state RN License.2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.3. Completion of Critical Care Course preferred. 4. Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.5. Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current. 6. Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.7. Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred. 8. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
