Overview
A growing and highly regulated manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Extraction Lab Supervisor to oversee daily lab operations and support a team in a fast-paced production environment.
This role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant production processes while maintaining high standards of quality and operational excellence. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge and a passion for team development and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development
- Supervise, mentor, and support lab staff to foster a positive and safety-focused work environment
- Assist with onboarding, training, and ongoing development of team members
- Provide performance feedback and day-to-day guidance
Lab Operations & Production
- Oversee daily lab activities, including extraction, refinement, testing, and quality control
- Support production goals, deadlines, and performance targets
- Assist with hands-on lab work as needed to ensure smooth operations
Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain compliance with state regulations and internal operational standards
- Ensure accurate documentation of all lab activities and inventory
- Support adherence to required tracking systems and reporting protocols
Inventory & Equipment Management
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and lab supplies; communicate needs proactively
- Ensure proper maintenance of lab equipment, including logging and reporting repair needs
Safety & Continuous Improvement
- Promote a clean, organized, and safe working environment
- Support process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and product quality
- Ensure consistent adherence to safety protocols and PPE requirements

Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate’s degree or higher preferred
- Experience with hydrocarbon extraction, distillation, and related processing methods
- Familiarity with closed-loop systems and solvent recovery systems
- Ability to obtain and maintain required state credentials
Work Environment
- Manufacturing/lab setting with exposure to varying temperatures, equipment noise, and production materials
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods
- Ability to work in close-quarters environments
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds multiple times per day
