Waterville Public Schools is seeking a caring and enthusiastic First Grade Teacher to join our dedicated team. Responsibilities include planning and delivering standards-based instruction, assessing student progress, collaborating with colleagues and families, and meeting the diverse needs of all learners. Primary Responsibilities
- Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated;
- Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interest, and abilities of the students;
- Creates a safe classroom environment that is conducive to learning and is appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students;
- Employs a variety of instructional techniques to best meet the needs and capabilities of individuals or student groups involved;
- Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as needed;
- Diagnosis the learning styles, strengths, and weaknesses of students on a regular basis, seeking the assistance of district specialists as appropriate;
- Assumes other duties as assigned by the principal.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Education or other appropriate area of study.
- Appropriate Department of Education Authorization
- Experience working with children
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
