Job Summary
Responsible for installing, assembling, and testing plumbing systems in modular home units within a factory environment. This role ensures all water supply, drainage, and vent systems are installed to code, tested for leaks, and ready for transport and final site connection.
Key Responsibilities
- Install water supply lines, drain/waste/vent (DWV) systems, and fixtures in modular home units
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and plumbing layouts
- Assemble and connect piping systems using PVC, PEX, copper, or other approved materials
- Install plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, tubs, showers, and water heaters
- Perform pressure testing and inspections to ensure leak-free systems
- Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal plumbing codes
- Coordinate with electricians, carpenters, and production teams during assembly
- Prepare plumbing systems for transport, including securing and protecting components
- Troubleshoot and repair any plumbing issues identified during quality checks
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, safe work area
Skills & Qualifications
- Valid plumbing license (state-required)
- Proven experience in residential plumbing installation
- Strong knowledge of plumbing codes and safety standards
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Experience with multiple piping systems (PEX, PVC, copper, etc.)
- Strong problem-solving and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment
Preferred Experience
- Experience in modular or manufactured home construction
- Familiarity with factory-based or assembly-line workflows
- Experience prepping systems for transport and final site hookup
Work Environment
- Indoor factory or warehouse setting, Concrete floors 8-10 hours a day, overtime may be required due to demand
- Work performed within partially completed modular home sections
- Exposure to construction materials, noise, bending, stooping, twisting, kneeling, crouching and reaching. Some ladders/stairs
Outcome / Goal
Ensure all plumbing systems are properly installed, fully functional, code-compliant, and transport-ready, supporting efficient final installation at the home site.
