Smith & Associates, CPAs is seeking an Accounting & Advisory Associate (CPA Candidate or CPA Preferred) to join our collaborative team in Yarmouth. This role offers hands-on experience across tax, audit, and client accounting work, with direct client interaction. We’re looking for someone who enjoys problem solving, values relationships, and wants to be part of a supportive, team-oriented firm.
Requirements of the Accounting & Advisory Associate:
- 3–7 years of experience in public accounting, ideally with audit and financial statement work.
- CPA or active CPA candidate is preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills with a client-focused approach.
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Comfortable using technology and adapting to change.
- Positive team player who is willing to jump in and help where needed.
- Audit or attest experience is a plus.
Benefits:
- Salary range: $75,000 – $90,000.
- Full-time schedule, Monday–Thursday 8–5 and Friday 8–12.

Responsibilities of the Accounting & Advisory Associate:
- Prepare individual, business, and nonprofit tax returns.
- Participate in audit, review, and compilation engagements.
- Prepare financial statements and supporting workpapers.
- Communicate directly with clients throughout engagements.
- Assist with accounting and business client projects.
- Support improvements to internal processes and workflows.
- Collaborate with firm leadership and staff across service areas.
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment.
