About Team/Role
WEX is seeking a Treasury Director to lead the team responsible for the company's daily financial engine. This role is responsible for people management, operational strategy, and ensuring that all Treasury activities align with WEX's broader financial goals. The Treasury Director supports the Treasurer and will oversee a team of analysts and be accountable for global banking operations, corporate debt management and issuance, securitization and factoring programs, banking relationships and overall funding and balance sheet strategies.
This role is a hybrid position based out of the Portland, Maine office.
How you'll make an impact
People Leadership: Manage, coach, and empower a team of Treasury Analysts, fostering a culture of high standards and continuous learning.
Operational Strategy: Define the strategy for daily cash management, borrowing, and investment optimization at a global scale.
Policy & Governance: Establish and enforce internal policies and cash management controls to ensure 100% compliance with regulatory requirements.
Bank Strategy: Own the selection and rationalization of key global banking partners, managing high-level relationships and service levels.
Executive Liaison: Serve as the primary operational contact for the CFO's office and internal audit for all Treasury-related inquiries.
Change Management: Lead the team through organizational changes and process improvements to adapt to rapid market shifts.
Experience you'll bring
Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or CTP preferred.
10+ years in Treasury with a focus on operations with at least 5+ years in a leadership role.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to "Build Bridges to Win" across diverse global teams and external partners including banks and rating agencies.
Extensive experience with internal/external audits and multi-entity global treasury structures.
Results-oriented mindset with a focus on accountability and delivering on commitments
Experience with AI and automation or a strong willingness to learn and implement these tools
The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
