JOB OPENING: Horse & Hound Veterinary Services is in search of a motivated person for the position of veterinary assistant. Previous animal experience required. Ideal candidate should have animal behavior knowledge; animal handling skills and a deep interest in anatomy and physiology. Duties include: assisting veterinarian with animal examinations, blood draws; medication administration; surgical procedures; hospitalization care; dispensing medications and client communications via phone and in person. Our office provides care for cats, dogs, reptiles, and wildlife. Work hours: Monday through Thursday 8 am - 5 pm. Minimum pay $16/hr but hourly wage will increase with level of experience and skillset provided by candidate. Position available immediately. Location: Thomaston, Maine.
