Own production for Double Neat's baked goods. We make snacks and coffee for whiskey lovers, and baking is the heart of it. Until now we sold another brand's brownies - we've developed our own recipe and we're bringing production in-house. You're not inheriting someone else's bake: you're launching ours.
The volume: roughly 8,000 bourbon brownies and 1,000 cookies every week, climbing well beyond that around Christmas, Valentine's Day, and Father's Day.
Production runs out of Fork Food Lab in South Portland, the shared commercial kitchen where we're members - a real professional kitchen and a community of food businesses.
What you'll own:
- The bake days: you set and run the production schedule
- Batch-to-batch consistency at sheet-pan scale
- Packaging finished product for shipping
- Directing our assistant baker
We're also hiring an assistant baker - if you work with someone great, bring them along.
On top of production, we have new products planned for the holidays and would love your help with recipe development. That's paid project work in addition to your production hours.
What we're looking for:
- A few years of commercial, wholesale, or high-volume bakery experience
- Comfortable scaling recipes to sheet-pan quantities
- Organized enough to run a bake schedule without anyone looking over your shoulder
Good to know:
- Full-time, about 35-40 hours per week
- Start date: ASAP
To apply, reply to this posting with a short note about your production experience and where you've baked commercially.
