Position Summary
The Warehouse & Logistics Manager oversees warehouse, inventory, materials, and logistics operations to support efficient manufacturing and distribution. This hands-on leadership role ensures the timely receipt, storage, movement, and shipment of materials and finished goods while maintaining inventory accuracy, safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
The Manager works closely with Production, Sales, Quality, Operations, and external logistics partners to ensure materials and products are available when needed and delivered accurately and on schedule. Responsibilities also include third-party storage, packaging supply management, production scheduling support, and continuous improvement.
This position reports to the Director of Operations and is based in Saco, Maine.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse & Inventory Management
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, material handling, picking, staging, and shipping.
- Maintain effective inventory control procedures, cycle counts, organization, labeling, and documentation.
- Coordinate the movement of raw materials, packaging, work-in-process, and finished goods throughout the facility.
- Maintain accurate inventory and warehouse records using ERP/WMS systems.
- Support production scheduling by ensuring timely material availability.
- Coordinate ordering and management of packaging supplies and warehouse materials.
Logistics & Distribution
- Coordinate inbound and outbound transportation, shipments, deliveries, pickups, and transfers.
- Manage relationships with carriers, transportation providers, and third-party logistics/storage partners.
- Ensure accurate, timely, and cost-effective shipments in accordance with customer and company requirements.
- Monitor third-party storage inventory, service levels, and costs.
- Resolve shipping, receiving, delivery, and carrier issues promptly.
- Identify opportunities to reduce transportation, storage, and logistics costs while maintaining service levels.
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Lead and develop the warehouse team, establishing expectations for productivity, accuracy, safety, and quality.
- Promote accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency, reduce waste, improve inventory accuracy, and lower operating costs.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to improve overall operational performance.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 3–5 years of experience in warehouse management, logistics, materials management, supply chain, or manufacturing operations.
- Prior supervisory or management experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution environment.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control, warehouse operations, shipping/receiving, and logistics.
- Experience with ERP, WMS, or inventory management systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience managing third-party warehouses, storage providers, carriers, and logistics partners.
- Strong leadership, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Forklift/material-handling equipment experience or certification preferred.
- Knowledge of OSHA and warehouse safety practices preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and work in a warehouse/manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Ability to operate or work around forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.
- Manual dexterity and coordination required for handling materials and operating equipment.
- Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions as needed for loading, unloading, and related activities.
Pay: $68,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
