Job Description
The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering and facilitating training programs which align with organizational core values. This role will be responsible for conducting training, identifying training needs, and collaborating with a variety of internal and external agencies to meet organizational requirements. Essential to this role is interfacing with various stakeholders to identify training gaps and implementing targeted solutions to address the noted challenges. Additional responsibilities include evaluating the effectiveness of training programs and making necessary adjustments to fulfill the diverse needs of the workforce. To excel in this role, the candidate should have a strong passion for learning and development, excellent instructional skills, and the ability to effectively communicate and engage with employees at all levels. This work assignment requires creativity, attention to detail, and previous instructor experience to deliver effective training development initiatives.
Required/Preferred Education/Training
- Associate Degree in education, or equivalent workforce training experience required.
- Class A Commercial Driver’s License “Class A CDL” preferred.
- Qualified CDL Instructor preferred.
- 5-8 years' training experience required.

- Demonstrated ability to organize, plan, and deliver training on complex subjects to a diverse audience.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and capable of relating work experience to others for the purpose of training, educating, and mentoring.
- Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on collaboration towards common goals.
- Demonstrated ability to work multiple priorities simultaneously and switch priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to accommodate a flexible schedule.
- Proficient with assessing, planning, and implementing training plans with an eye for effectiveness, efficiency, and resource allocation.
- Strong team facilitation and innovative problem-solving skills.
- Familiar with working with represented employees.
- Demonstrated knowledge of all manufacturing trades of shipbuilding operations, e.g., welding & shipfitting.
- Proven history of successful training as an instructor.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite.
