The Maine Department of Corrections invites applications for the role of Facility Manager at Mountian View Correctional Facility. This role is instrumental in maintaining the Department's progress as it strives to normalize and humanize client interactions, while simultaneously driving the modernization of the department.
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Facility Manager to join our team. This pivotal role will critically assess, evaluate, and develop strategic plans for the operational areas within its scope. The successful candidate will collaborate with their team to coordinate schedules, select and procure necessary equipment and supplies.As a key point of contact, the Facility Manager will act as the liaison between various facility departments, including the warehouse, kitchen, maintenance, correctional trade instructors, and inventory management for tools, keys, and keycards. This role demands a hands-on approach to personnel management and requires direct reporting to the Deputy Warden of Support Services providing secondary support to facility budgetary management and fiscal processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee and direct operations across various facility programs and services, including Food Services, Warehouse, Industries, and Maintenance.
- Coordinate the planning and execution of industry programming to support the facility's functions.
- Manage the allocation of both physical and financial resources to optimize organizational efficiency.
- Ensure the maintenance and repair activities are conducted in accordance with the highest standards.
- Supervise contract execution for maintenance and minor repair projects.
- Interpret and enforce compliance with laws, rules, regulations, and the ACA standards.

- Proven experience in facility management or a related field, preferably within a correctional environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to oversee multiple programs and teams.
- Excellent planning, coordination, and implementation skills.

- Knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Knowledge of production and workflow management.
- Knowledge of inventory and material cost control methods and procedures.
- Knowledge of sales and marketing practices.
- Knowledge of security procedures and practices.
- Knowledge of modem principles, practices, tools, and techniques.
- Knowledge of budgetary, personnel, and contracting procedures.
- Ability to plan and supervise the work of subordinates.
- Ability to direct, supervise, and evaluate staff performance.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in writing and orally.
- Ability to use applicable computer programs.
- Ability to understand and follow complex instructions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to foresee potential issues in facility processes which may impact maintaining the facility.
- Ability to anticipate and analyze problems, reach logical conclusions, and make sound decisions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A background which demonstrates progressively responsible experience in facility operations, budgetary management, including experience in a supervisory and/or advanced administrative capacity.
