Position Summary
The Director of Business Operations Analysis reports to the Chief Financial Officer and works directly with the Chief Operating Officer of the Health Plans, other senior leaders, and cross-functional teams throughout the organization. The Director will lead and direct initiatives aimed at improving and optimizing health plan operations. This work will include but is not limited to identifying key performance indicators and compliance requirements, gathering data, creating tools, assessing team performance, and validating the effectiveness of implemented changes. This role will also serve as a liaison between the business and IT to create and translate business and technical requirements as well as help with prioritization. This role will help the organization operationalize initiatives in respective areas as well as assist in the creation of KPIs, staffing models, etc.
Job Description
Key Outcomes:
- Drives change through strategic data-informed decisions by leading initiatives with cross-functional departments and leadership to identify and clarify key business needs across functional areas, business and/or clinical lines as well as develops outcomes and process measures.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, and finance, to align data analysis with business goals
- Leads or participates in business-specific projects, by applying and/or developing expertise in the applicable subject area.
- Develops work plans with clear timelines and milestones to meet business priorities and deadlines, determining and carrying out processes and methodologies.
- Coordinates and manages resources to accomplish organizational goals.
- Partners with senior leaders to make effective business decisions; solve complex problems; escalate issues or risks as appropriate; and monitor progress and results.
- Partners with the Business Performance Improvement team to document policies, procedures, and workflows and to identify process improvement opportunities.
- Leads development and presentation of scalable analytical/reporting solutions for Health Plan Operations.
- Develops and implements successful strategies for revenue growth, expense control, and operational efficiency.
- Leads the creation, identification, and analysis of metrics to improve business performance and drive business actions.
- Responsible for developing and directing the business plan for the operations. This includes preparation of business analyses, proposals, implementation plans for new programs, and the design and implementation of changes to existing programs.
- Presents findings and recommendations to senior management and other key stakeholders.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, Business Administration, or related field: Master’s Degree preferred
- 7+ years of progressive experience in managed care operations
