South Portland is seeking a dynamic and experienced Social Worker to serve students across the district. This role will be supporting at-risk students and families who have barriers to accessing education with the goal of increating equity.
Duties include:
- Supporting the reigstration process for students who qualify for McKinney Vento
- Ongoing support to those students and their families
- School and community based work
- District level projects and assignments
Qualifed candidates should:
- Possess excellent communication skills
- Thrive on being part of a dynamic team
- Understand how school-based social work services can impact a studnet's academic and functional performance
- Be flexible
- Be confortable working with homeless populations and with speakers of other languages
- Have experience in trauma informed practice is preferred
- Hold appropriate certification
