Job Summary: The Biomedical Equipment Technician Level III is a senior role responsible for performing advanced maintenance, calibration, and repair on a wide array of biomedical equipment. This position requires extensive technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to mentor and train junior staff. The technician will also be involved in project management and equipment planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct advanced maintenance, calibration, and repairs on complex biomedical equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions, utilizing advanced technical knowledge.
- Ensure all biomedical equipment meets industry standards and safety regulations.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all maintenance and repair actions.
- Provide mentorship, training, and support to junior technicians and clinical staff.
- Collaborate with manufacturers and vendors for technical support, equipment updates, and recalls.
- Participate in the evaluation, planning, and implementation of new biomedical equipment.
- Manage projects related to biomedical equipment installation and upgrades.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, or a related field, or DoD BMET School Graduate or Active AAMI ACI credentials.
- 5+ years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance and repair.
- Expert knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and computer systems.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead a team.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
- Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and equipment management systems.
Certifications: (if applicable)
- Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) strongly preferred.
- Any other relevant certifications.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Work Environment: The work environment may involve exposure to hazardous materials and situations that require following safety protocols and wearing protective equipment.
3-year Contract with options for 2 additional years.
Salary:
- $ 68,000 - $ 75,000 Annualized
- $ 32.69 - $ 36.06 per hour
