As an intern in our DesignDepartment, you will be given specific projects to complete throughout the summer within your department and the results of your projects will have a direct impact on our company.Here’s a sample of some of the recent projects our interns have worked on:
- Collaborations with interns in other Departments (example Creative and Sustainability)
- Working with the Merchant intern to create an outerwear collection using Merchant Line Briefs
- Visiting the Archives to view our original 100+ years of garments and creating a new collection based on it
- Working with our Clo Design Super Users to an create apparel collection in 3D
- Creating new prints and graphics for apparel collections based on our internal artwork libraries
- Researching relevant market trends to create color and trend boards
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend relevant meetings that will drive work
- Work with various cross-functional partners on key projects
- Systems work to support Design functions
Qualifications:
- Must be currently enrolled in a 4-year college or university degree program; Strong preference will be given to rising Juniors, Seniors, and graduating Seniors
- Passion for retail combined with a strong desire to represent the L.L.Bean brand
- Strong analytical, research, and demonstrated leadership skills
- Flexibility and willingness to work where needed during the internship experience
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Demonstrated proficiency in analyzing data and presenting findings, Excel and PowerPoint
- Curiosity, grit and a growth mindset
Health and Safety Requirement: Ensures compliance with the L.L.Bean comprehensive Health and Safety program by knowing and following all safety guidelines, policies, procedures and expectations. Takes immediate and appropriate action to rectify any unsafe conditions.
