Position Summary
Manages manufacturing operations for designated location which includes; antisera purification, human serum processing, custom manufacturing, buffer preparation, labware cleaning, inventory control, and customer order processing in a safe, cost efficient and timely manner. All duties are performed in a manner that is consistent with the goals and policies of the company, as well as in compliance with ISO standards, where applicable.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Manages all manufacturing related activities, recommends and implements new or revised processes and procedures.
Analyzes product flow, customer needs, and inventory requirements to develop manufacturing plans and schedules.
Participates in company planning, and problem solving, and works closely with directors and executives to provide technical direction on systems, analysis, design, development and testing for greater company success.
Ensures standards for product quality, equipment, and operator performance are maintained and that cost-effective technology is used to maximize production.
Prepares departmental reports for operational departmental and capital expense budgets as well as monitoring actual vs budgeted expenses.
Prepares administrative reports and information for Manufacturing Divisional Director, along with proposals, reports and activities.
Maintains a high level of confidentiality.
Manages customer complaints, addresses and completes all CARS for the manufacturing department.
Manages integration of distribution activity with sales functions to ensure product delivery in timely manner.
POSITIONS REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in chemistry or life science from four-year college or university; and eight to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Three to five years production/manufacturing management experience required.
Requires a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others. Provides leadership for problem resolution to facilitate fast improvements and improved working relationships. Offers leadership in developing, improving, and implementing corporate policies and procedures.
