Summary
The Clinical Education Coordinator oversees the placement of students into clinical education rotations, job shadows, senior partnerships, and other student-related activities. Proactively communicates with departments about student placement opportunities, partnering with schools/universities to ensure requirements are met, communicating with students about their placement, and organizing student orientation. Submits monthly reports for student placements. The Clinical Education Coordinator will oversee Life Support Programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supports and promotes the mission and values of Covenant Health Ministry.
Understands the organization’s professional development and educational needs.
Navigates educational technology, such as learning management system.
Ability to identify and implement specific objectives designed to support PI (performance improvement) activities.
Teaches Basic Life Support classes
Teaches Advanced Life Support classes
Coordinates all students for clinical rotations, internships, job shadows, senior partnerships, and other student-related activities independently or with minimal supervision.
Maintains files of school affiliated with Affiliation Agreements obtained and updated in iContracts.
Maintains contact/faculty names and contact information.
Maintains calendar of student placements (location, date, number).
Keep Student records up to date:
Immunizations
Flu shot
N95 Fit Test
Background checks
Signed confidentiality statement
Inputting students in HRP, the Student Tracker and coordinating the EHR Training and providing IT Access Log On to the student.
Assist with Badge Access from Security.
Coordinate evaluations of clinical experience (if appropriate).
Maintains appropriate databases.
Student request database
Clinical Affiliation/Contract database
Social Responsibility (Students)
Software Access Management
Updates students on student tracking share point page.
Submits information technology system (ITS) tickets to escalate security access changes as needed for both students and new hires.
Submits ITS tickets for account build and change as needed.
Participates in the design and development of new processes.
Identifies and reports potential training deficits.
Identifies improvement strategies for system design and implementation.
Assists with process improvement initiatives.
Supports the role of the Learning Management System (LMS) as a knowledge/evidence-based resource at the direction of the LMS Administrator
Follows LMS protocols and procedures in line with established procedures and policies.
Assists in the assignments to students/student groups needing content.
Support and assist in training for faculty of affiliated schools.
Maintains record of training completion for all participating enrollees.
Works with LMS Admin to manage pre- and class e-learnings.
Works with LMS Admin to update assigned learning requirements as needed.
Produces LMS system reports as needed.
Ability to maintain and organize complete monthly records and reports as appropriate to the area(s) of responsibility.
Cooperates with other department members in program planning and use of resources through participation in program planning, employee meetings, and sharing consults with management.
Coordinates programs: Schedules equipment, materials, and dates. Maintains course records and reports results in an appropriate and timely manner.
Communicates, promptly, any internal or external customer issues, concerns, or questions that they either could not resolve or that need to be shared at another level.
Maintains all required competencies and completes annual compliance courses on time.

Education and Experience
High School diploma or GED required. Associate degree required.
Clinical certification or license required.
1 – 3 years of experience in a healthcare environment required.
2 – 3 years of customer service experience.
An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
OSHA standards Category I, exposure to blood/body fluids or tissue. Must be able to work in a high-paced environment where multi-tasking, prioritizing, and sound decision-making skills are required. Exposed to disease, illness, infections, strains, and physical injury. Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with this position that involves a combination of sitting, (standing up to 8+ hours), twisting, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching. Lifting/carrying frequently up to 35 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds. The ability to speak, read, write, and understand written instructions in English is required.
