Looking for work where you’re not stuck behind a desk, every day is a little different, and your effort actually matters?

S.B. Taylor Moving is growing, and we’re looking for a few dependable, hardworking people to join our moving and packing team in South Portland.

We’re a small, family-run company with a big focus on taking care of our customers and taking care of our team.

Starting pay is $20/hour + tips.

This is a flexible, as-needed position, which can be a great fit if you’re looking for extra income, have another job, are in school, or simply don’t want the same 9-to-5 routine every day.

And when you are scheduled, you receive a 4-hour minimum of pay, even if the job finishes early.

WHAT YOU’LL ACTUALLY BE DOING

You’ll work alongside our crew helping with:

• Residential moves
• Senior moves
• Packing and unpacking
• Loading and unloading trucks and trailers
• Furniture protection and placement
• Estate cleanouts
• Local and occasional out-of-state moves
• Helping customers through what can be a very stressful day

Some days are physically demanding. Some are long. Some involve travel.

But you’re also part of the reason someone gets to walk into their new home at the end of the day and feel relieved that everything went smoothly.

NO MOVING EXPERIENCE? THAT’S OK.

We can teach someone how to properly wrap furniture, pack a truck, protect a home, and move efficiently.

It’s much harder to teach someone to:

Show up.
Care.
Communicate.
Have a good attitude.
Treat people with respect.

That’s what we’re looking for.

In fact, we’re perfectly happy hiring someone without moving experience if they’re dependable, coachable and willing to learn.

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY ABOUT OUR CREWS

Our customers regularly describe our team as:

“Timely, communicative, friendly, and very respectful of our belongings.”

“Very efficient. Very personable.”

“Professional, on time, and knew their craft.”

“A great team and very respectful.”

One customer shared that our crew was:

“Professional, yet entertaining, which eased any anxiety I had about my move.”

And because we frequently work with seniors and families during major life transitions, one of the compliments that means the most to us is:

“You were the only movers who made my mom feel safe.”

That’s the level of service we want every person on our team to help create.

You’re not just carrying furniture.

You’re representing our company inside someone’s home during one of the most stressful days they may have that year.
