Provide support, suggestions and guidance to the residential staff in crisis prevention. Adequately program for more difficult students in need of crisis intervention. Provide crisis intervention (SCM & LSCI) to clients, completes related reporting and record keeping. Operates as a building “floater” across all residential units. Assists clients and residential staff with evening programming, coordinates and approves staffing for pre-planned off-campus activities and ensures that staffing distribution meets required ratios for each residential unit.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of high school diploma.
Fingerprinting certification
Successful completion of SCM (Safe Crisis Management)
Excellent writing skills.
Minimum two years of experience working with children, preferably in a residential setting.
JOB DUTIES:
Meet all expectations put forth in the OGS Manual for KPNE-GL. Availability and consistent presence within the respective milieus for the purpose of ensuring safety and support to associates and clients.
CIR system: Ensure all internal/external documentation and timelines are met with regard to the CIRs. This is to include all staff debriefings are completed and documented, CIRs are finalized, documentation is prepped and sent to filing. Additionally, any follow-up items are brought to the attention of the responsible Treatment Team Supervisor, Assistant Director of Residential Services, or department head.
Must be fully trained and certified in current KidsPeace approved restraint methodology and have the ability to fully participate in all aspects of restraint procedures on youth who may weigh in excess of 250 pounds and are verbally or physically threatening or otherwise presenting a threat to themselves or others.
Provide physical crisis intervention and crisis prevention techniques within the classroom when necessary.
Provide crisis intervention to KidsPeace students, and complete related reporting and record keeping.
