Job Overview
We are seeking two separate candidates: a Group Fitness Instructor AND/OR Aqua Exercise Instructor to join our wellness team. This may be one individual or two. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leading group exercise classes and a desire to inspire and guide students in their journey toward physical and mental well-being. This role requires excellent communication skills, a deep understanding of safe and effective exercise principles, and the ability to create a welcoming environment for practitioners of all levels.
Responsibilities
- Lead engaging and effective classes for individuals and groups, ensuring a safe and supportive atmosphere.
- Develop class plans that cater to various skill levels, from beginners to advanced.
- Provide clear instructions on poses, breathing techniques, and meditation practices.
- Monitor students' progress and offer personalized guidance to help them achieve their fitness goals.
- Maintain knowledge of anatomy and physiology to ensure the safety and effectiveness of each session.
- Foster a sense of community among participants through encouragement and support.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new techniques, and continuing education opportunities in yoga and fitness.
- Be reliable and punctual
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology as it relates to yoga practice.
- Experience in group fitness settings; additional skills in personal training or other fitness disciplines (e.g., Pilates, CrossFit) are highly desirable.
- Ability to demonstrate proper form while providing modifications for various skill levels.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with diverse groups of individuals.
- A passion for health, wellness, and helping others achieve their personal fitness goals.
- Previous experience in gym environments or related fields such as dance or cycle instruction is an asset.
