Host – Part-Time (2–3 Positions)

The Porthole is a busy, year-round waterfront restaurant in Portland, ME. We’re known for our great food, friendly service, and lively atmosphere. Our team works hard, supports each other, and makes sure guests feel welcome from the moment they walk in.
Position Summary
We’re looking for part-time hosts to greet guests, manage seating, and keep things running smoothly during service. This role is all about creating a warm first impression and helping guests have a great experience.
Responsibilities
- Welcome guests and make them feel comfortable
- Manage seating chart and waitlist
- Escort guests to their tables and provide menus
- Coordinate with servers to maintain smooth service
- Keep the host area clean and organized
- Answer guest questions and assist as needed
- Help with light cleaning or side work
Requirements
- Friendly, professional, and reliable
- Able to work in a busy environment
- Comfortable standing/walking for entire shift
- Team-player attitude
- Prior restaurant or host experience is a plus but not required
