Why This Job Might Not Be for You
This job is rewarding, but not always easy. You’ll need to be comfortable with:

- Physical work – Expect to walk 3–6 miles per shift.

- Driving – A reliable vehicle is required.
- Part-time hours – Best suited for supplemental income. You’ll start with 8-10 hours/week, with potential to grow to 15–18.

What We Ask of You
As a Tails & Trails dog walker, you'll deliver consistent, high-quality care in the rain and shine. You’ll follow care instructions, manage a time-sensitive schedule, and share detailed updates with clients through our app.
Punctuality and reliability are essential—clients count on us to maintain their pets’ routines. We also value communication, teamwork, and a willingness to learn. If you’re proactive, detail-oriented, and love building bonds with dogs, you’ll do well here.
Basic Requirements
- Experience with animals (volunteer, personal, or professional) is a plus but not required
- 18+ years old
- Available 2–3 weekdays per week for 4-hour shifts between 9 AM and 4 PM and 1 weekend a month
- Comfortable with dogs of all sizes and energy levels
- Willing to work in rain, snow, and heat
- Own a reliable, insured vehicle and confident driving in Greater Portland
- Owns smartphone with data
- Able to pass a background check
- Punctual, independent, and team-minded
How Much Can I Make?
Most walkers earn $150–$400/week, based on availability and demand. Raises and hours are based on performance and time with the company. There’s lots of potential for more hours and internal growth.
