HVAC Mechanic
Location: Portland, Maine
Schedule: Full-Time | Day Shift
Department: Facilities Management
($5,000.00 Sign on Bonus paid in 3 installments, prorated for Part Time)
We are seeking a skilled HVAC Mechanic to install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems throughout our medical campus. This role ensures optimal performance of critical systems that support patient care and facility operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
• Maintain compliance with safety standards and hospital protocols.
• Document work orders and maintain accurate service records.
• Collaborate with other facilities team members to ensure efficient operations.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
1. Education: Apprenticeship and/or Post-secondary education with courses in air conditioning/refrigeration, electrical wiring and controls, plumbing, blueprint reading, and/or boiler operation preferred.
2. License/Certifications: State License as a Boiler Operator, 3rd or 4th Class and/or Stationary Steam Engineer within one year of start date required. Valid Driver’s License required.
3. Experience: Three years of experience in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) or related field required.
