Central Utility Plant Operator
Location: Portland, Maine
Schedule: Full-Time | Day Shift
Department: Facilities Management
($5,000.00 Sign on Bonus paid in 3 installments, prorated for Part Time)
We are seeking a Central Utility Plant Operator to monitor, operate, and maintain boilers, chillers, pumps, and related equipment in our central utility plant. This role ensures reliable delivery of steam, chilled water, and other essential utilities for hospital operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Operate and monitor boilers, chillers, air compressors, and auxiliary equipment.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Record operational data and maintain accurate logs.
• Respond to alarms and troubleshoot system issues promptly.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
1. Education: High School education or GED preferred.
2. License/Certifications: State license as a Boiler Operator 1st or 2nd Class and/or Stationary Steam Engineer required. Must be registered with the State as the Operator in Charge. Valid Driver’s License required.
3. Experience: Five years of relevant experience required.
