We are a welcoming, patient-focused medical cannabis dispensary in Portland, Maine, dedicated to providing high-quality products, exceptional education, and a fun environment to our customers. We are seeking friendly, knowledgeable Budtenders to join our team and help guide patients through their cannabis journey in a compliant, positive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome patients warmly, providing outstanding customer service at all times.
- Educate patients on our menu of medical cannabis products, including flower, edibles, concentrates, topicals, and accessories—explaining strains, effects, dosages, and consumption methods.
- Offer personalized product recommendations based on patient needs, preferences, and medical conditions.
- Verify patient certifications, Maine medical marijuana cards, and IDs in full compliance with state regulations.
- Process transactions accurately using our POS system, handle cash payments, and ensure secure packaging.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked sales floor and display areas.
- Assist with inventory management, including restocking, product rotation, and reporting low stock.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, product knowledge, and Maine Office of Cannabis Policy (OCP) regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to resolve any patient concerns and maintain a positive store atmosphere.
- Perform opening/closing duties as needed.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Passion for cannabis and genuine interest in helping medical patients.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills; previous retail, hospitality, or sales experience preferred.
- Ability to obtain a Maine Registry Identification Card (RIC) (required for all cannabis workers; we can guide you through the process).
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible schedules, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 25-50 lbs.
- Basic math skills and familiarity with POS systems a plus.
- Knowledge of cannabis products, strains, and effects is highly desirable (training provided for the right candidates).
- Must pass a background check and comply with all state cannabis laws.
