We are the New Gloucester Village Store, a 135-year old market/restaurant with a wood-fired brick oven serving 3 meals a day, 7 days a week. We make Ready-Made Meals, sides, salads, soups, and such to sell out of the cooler. We sell meats, cheeses, produce, beverages, gourmet groceries, as well as the basics. We have a menu of unique quality sandwiches, wraps, salads, breakfast, and more, as well as pizza; made-to-order, as slices, and pre-cooked out of the cooler.
We have been closed for a couple years and are reopening in May.
We are seeking Cooks:
Meal & Prep Cooks- Do you enjoy being given an extensive to-do list that requires consistent efficient productivity to complete? We are looking for cooks experienced in large-scale production that bring an exactness to following recipes and maintaining consistency. You will mostly work in the downstairs kitchen prepping for the cafe, making meals and other foods to sell out of the cooler, and doing some light baking.
Cafe Cooks- As important as experience is precision, cleanliness, orderliness, a desire to keep busy, a comfort multi-tasking, a comfort with being under pressure and working at a rapid pace for hours, and strong customer service skills. We are hiring for all meals.
