About NEAAO
The New England Arab American Organization (NEAAO) is a community-based nonprofit founded in 2015 and based in Westbrook, Maine. NEAAO serves immigrants and refugees across the Greater Portland area, as well as Lewiston, Augusta, and other regions statewide.
Our programs support individuals and families—particularly those from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region—many of whom are newly arrived and navigating barriers related to language, healthcare, employment, education, and social services.
Through initiatives in health and wellness, youth development, English language learning, the arts, and workforce readiness, NEAAO works to ensure that individuals and families are supported holistically. At the same time, we intentionally bring together newcomers and lifelong Mainers to foster understanding, strengthen relationships, and build a more inclusive Maine.
