Educational Technicians provide small group, or one-on-one academic and functional
support to students with special needs. These positions are 6.5 hrs per day. Full-time,
school-year position. Excellent benefits and competitive hourly pay.
- MDOE Criminal History Records Check and Educational Technician Authorization required
Qualifications
- Ed Tech I, II or III Authorization from the Maine Dept. of Education
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- (CHRC) Certification.
Responsibilities & Job Duties
- Demonstrate the skills and knowledge necessary for the job
- Help students master equipment/instructional materials assigned by the teacher
- Provide input if requested to the IEP Team or Parent Teacher Conference
- Assist in the preparation of instructional materials
- Copying, typing, filing, cutting, laminating, bulletin board preparation, etc.
- Provide classroom management functions
- Assist with playground/recess, time-out, lunch and bus duties as requested
- Assist with supervision of students during emergency / fire drills, assemblies and field trips
- Provide escort and assistance to students as necessary
- Supervise small groups of students in community based programs
- Maintain high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of student information
- Work cooperatively and positively with coworkers and supervisors
- Perform non-instructional, non-evaluative functions
- Review and reinforce learning previously introduced by the teacher
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising special education teacher, principal, or Director of Special Services.
