The Operions Manager will oversee the daily operion of the Distribution and Logistics departments within the branch. The OM ensures smooth operion of various processes including the processes of planning, implementing, and controlling the effective and efficient flow of goods and services from the point of origin to the point of consumption.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing the overall operions of the facility including supervising team members, monitoring expenses and overseeing P&L functions.
- Cree and ensure a safe workplace and promote a culture of safety for the facility
- Partner with internal leadership team (Sales, Purchasing, Customer Service, Logistics) to maximize profitability, efficiency and to ensure customer sisfaction.
- Lead and manage warehouse department processes and practices to ensure th programs are aligned with company business goals and objectives
- Best use of organizional resources by defining, planning and working with the Operions Director to develop stregic and long range goals
- Establishes operional standards for cost control, safety and complete on-time delivery
- Build a strong group of employees
- Analyzes and proposes methods of sustained productivity increases
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and organized warehouse
- Ensures safe working conditions including properly training employees on proper safety
- Effectively counsel and manage employees on tendance, performance and/or misconduct
- Accountable for compliance to all federal, ste, local regulory guidelines to include OSHA Standards and DOT regulions
- Oversee the Transportion Department
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administrion or Supply Chain Management or reled field preferred but not required
- Minimum of 10+ years demonstred Management experience in Warehouse Operions required
- Strong knowledge of logistics and operional processes
- Knowledge of local, ste and federal OSHA safety and FMCR regulions
- Experience managing in a unionize work environment is a plus
- Must possess strong communicions, analytical and effective decision making skills; and a strong commitment to company values
- Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word and Excel required, AS 400 exp. a plus
- Experience in forklift certificion and inspection, hazm certificion, opering various warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, stock pickers, etc.)
- High comfort level working in a diverse environment
- Open to direction and collaborive work style and commitment to get the job done
