About Us:
Jack Traps Inc. is a trusted name in ice fishing gear, proudly handcrafting premium ice traps (tip-ups) and accessories used by anglers across the U.S. For over 40 years, we’ve combined traditional craftsmanship with Maine-made quality. As we grow, we’re looking for dependable, detail-oriented team members to join our crew and help us build the best traps on ice. We are currently looking for full-time year-round positions as well as part-time seasonal positions for now thru the winter. Full time positions will require overtime through the busy winter season (Thanksgiving to March) 6-7 day weeks with 9-12 hour days. Although the ice fishing knowledge is appreciated, if you love the sport this may not be the job for you as we are too busy to get out and do much ice fishing! We have a standard 7am - 3:30pm Monday thru Friday schedule from April thru November with flexibility.
Responsibilities:
• Assembling wooden and metal components for Jack Traps products
• Operate basic shop tools (drill press, sanders, hand tools, etc.)
• Inspect finished products for quality and consistency
• Package and prepare items for shipment or retail
• Greet and assist customers in the retail store and bait shop
• Provide knowledgeable recommendations on Jack Traps products
• Restock shelves, organize displays, and maintain a clean store environment
• Process sales using a point-of-sale (POS) system
• Handle phone orders, customer questions, and general inquiries
• Stay up to date on product features and ice fishing basics
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace
• Support other tasks as needed•
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Comfortable working with tools and machinery (training provided)
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
• Punctual, reliable, and eager to learn
• Friendly and professional with strong communication skills and good attitude
• Customer service or retail experience a plus
• Dependable and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
• Able to stand and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
