Job Summary:
The Finishing Supervisor/Planner will play a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations within our Finishing & Shipping Department. They will be responsible for managing a team of finishing production and shipping workers, ensuring production goals are met, maintaining product quality standards, and fostering a safe and efficient work environment. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and time management skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to delivering top-notch products.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision and Leadership:
Lead, train, coach, motivate, and mentor a team of finishing production employees & shipping/receiving employees.
Carry out daily priorities for the shift & project work as set by the Finishing Manager.
Some Production planning, scheduling, and inventory control duties
Field requests from other departments including customer service and sales
Set clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability.
Ability and willingness to perform all positions within Finishing when necessary.
Production Management:
Plan and organize production schedules to meet customer demand.
Monitor daily production activities to ensure targets are met efficiently.
Address and resolve production issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure products meet quality standards and specifications.
Implement and enforce quality control procedures and inspections.
Collaborate with the quality assurance team to address and resolve quality-related issues.
Inventory and Materials Management:
Coordinate with the materials department to ensure the availability of raw materials and components.
Monitor inventory levels and manage production materials efficiently.
Compliance and Documentation:
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
Maintain accurate production records and reports.
Assist in audits and inspections as required.
Communication:
Facilitate effective communication between shifts and departments.
Report production status, issues, and performance metrics to management.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma
Equivalent work experience in shipping and receiving.
Previous Leadership experience preferred.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Excellent attendance record
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Quality control and workflow management
Proficient in computer applications and production management software.
Safety-conscious with a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
