Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality patient care by performing dental cleanings, educating patients on oral hygiene, and assisting the dentist during procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pediatric dentistry and a passion for promoting oral health.
Duties
- Conduct thorough dental cleanings and examinations for pediatric patients and those with special healthcare needs.
- Take and develop medical imaging, including X-rays, to assist in diagnosing dental conditions.
- Maintain accurate medical records and document patient treatments in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care practices.
- Assist the dentist with various procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow within the dental clinic.
- Implement infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment for both patients and staff.
- Stay current with advancements in dental technology and practices to provide the best care possible.
Skills
- Proficiency in medical imaging techniques and familiarity with dental terminology.
- Strong knowledge of infection control practices to ensure patient safety.
- Ability to work effectively with pediatric patients as well as adults with special healthcare needs.
- Excellent patient care skills, demonstrating empathy and professionalism at all times.
