Double Neat is a Portland, Maine company selling small-batch sweet and savory snacks for whiskey lovers - bourbon brownies, whiskey coffee, cinnamon pecans and more. We're growing fast and looking for a reliable bakery assistant/packer to join our team.
The Role
You'll work alongside our lead baker, packing our brownies and keeping our products looking as good as they taste. A heads-up: packing is a big part of the job, and it's repetitive by nature - if you find satisfaction in a steady rhythm and in getting every box just right, you'll love it here. Once the holiday rush is over, there will be room to do more baking, with training provided.
What You'll Do
- Pack our brownies carefully and consistently
- Apply brand stickers
- Keep your station clean
- Pitch in where needed with baking, prep, and cleaning
What You'll Need
- Able to follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Able to stand for an 8-hour shift
- Able to lift 35 lbs
- Reliable transportation to get to work on time
- Dependable, with a strong attendance record
- Able to work independently without constant supervision
- Attention to detail, since consistency matters in every box
- Enthusiastic and eager to learn
Bakery, kitchen, or food production experience is a plus, but not required. If you have a great attitude and no experience, we want to hear from you.
Schedule & Pay
- $22-$26/hour
- Monday-Friday
- 35 hours/week normally
- 40 hours/week Thanksgiving through Christmas: 10 AM-6:30 PM, including a 30-minute lunch break
- Start in early November, as production ramps up
- Flexibility to pick up extra hours around holidays and special events is a big plus
