Qualifications
- Strong communication skills
- Basic math skills for cash handling and transactions
- 2+ years experience in a leadership role
- Prior experience in retail, sales, hospitality, or customer service roles required
- Previous cannabis retail experience and knowledge of strains, products, and consumption required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Able to successfully pass an extensive background check
- Have or obtain IIC from Maine Office of Cannabis Policy
Responsibilities
- Develop a team passionate and knowledgeable about cannabis and the local community/client base
- Partner with owner to determine product needs and facilitate orders with vendors
- Lead customer service and sales operations of a dispensary location
- Manage sales performance and identifies sales opportunities
- Develops and implements store strategies and tactics that achieve sales, service, and operational performance goals
- Manages all cannabis sales operations
- Manages store opening and closing procedures
- Build and increase customer retention, fosters customer relationships, and develops brand awareness and loyalty
- Provide escalated guidance to customers as needed including resolving customer complaints
- Manages store delivery, transfers, and inventory management processes
- Manages workforce and performance management efforts including hiring, onboarding, training, and evaluating employee performance
- Ensures that processes and procedures are compliant with internal policies and standards as well as local and state regulations
- Ensures compliant processes related to inventory reporting, employee reporting, patient reporting, and packaging
- Manages store budget and reporting
- Maintains the cleanliness and organization of the store including organizing products and inventory, sweeping, mopping, and dusting
- Manages staff scheduling
- Required to be on-call and be available via phone and in person as needed
- Set sales, service, and profit goals and incentivize/coach staff to exceed them
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment
- Flexibility in scheduling, including weekends, evenings, and holidays with availability for shifts that include opening and closing the store
- Prepare and effectively lead state inspectors through scheduled and unannounced inspections
- The Retail Store Manager oversees all activities related to the operation of the cannabis retail store to include patient identification and registration, record retention, product tracking, and inventory control as directed by the Area General Manager
- Maintain accurate records for all necessary documents including but not limited to: daily cash reconciliations, delivery manifests, inventory counts and adjustments, necessary employee and customer information, and destruction reports in accordance with state and business guidelines
- Resolve all inventory discrepancies and client issues
- Acts as a liaison internally between all staff, management team, and externally between the law enforcement and the Office of Cannabis Policy
- Foster company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, teamwork, and high performance
- Directs all compliance efforts for the company to minimize risk
- Conducts performance reviews with department managers and monitors employee productivity, attitudes, and performance results
- Recruits and retains quality staff for each department and conducts interviews
- Manages talent acquisition, workforce management, and performance reviews
- Develops benefit and incentive programs to provide motivation and rewards for effective performance
- Manages leave administration practices
- Maintains excellent facilities conducive to enhancing employee productivity
- Provides clear and consistent company-wide communication and manages change
- Other duties as assigned
