Overview:
We are seeking compassionate individuals to join our team of dedicated Direct Support Professionals. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism and other unique needs in their daily lives.
Responsibilities:
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal care and hygiene
- Provide emotional support and companionship
- Implement care plans and document individual progress
- Administer medication following protocols once certification is received
- Support individuals while participating in community activities and social events
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for individuals
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to provide the best care
Skills:
- Experience in assisted living or similar settings is preferred, but not required
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality practices
- Proficiency in working with people with intellectual disabilities and autism is preferred, but not required as we are willing to train the right candidate
- Documentation writing skills and good communication skills
- Ability to provide compassionate care and support
- Experience in nursing home settings is a plus
- Physical ability to assist with lifting and transferring individuals, if required
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass State of Maine background checks
- Have or be willing to obtain State of Maine required Covid-19 vaccination

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
