Financial Services Generalist (Universal Employee)
Primary Role
- Serves as an effective, friendly contact and resource for the membership and as a collaborative, engaged team member. Responsible for accurately and efficiently processing loans, financial transactions, new accounts, and the servicing of all member products and services with diplomacy and discretion
- Independently handles a broad range of daily and recurring operational & support functions, such as exception item processing, title tracking, daily reports, card processing, administrative support, vault balancing, etc.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
- Extensive communication including collaboration, verbal, written, and virtual interactions in providing and support exemplary service to the membership
- Processes and appropriately document transactions, inquiries, member requests and file maintenance
- Handles daily operational tasks including exception items, remote deposits, online/mobile banking, bill pay, card servicing, Notary services
- Develops, maintains, and utilizes a broad knowledge of all member-facing processes, products and services in serving the membership and supporting the team members
- Researches and collaborates to fully resolve inquiries with efficiency and accuracy
- Complies with operations and security procedures, privacy policy, and handles confidential information appropriately; complies with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act, PATRIOT Act, and Office of Foreign Assets Control
- Processes loan applications and inquiries, performs loan interviews, run credit reports and underwriting calculations, and recommend loan for approval or denial

Experience, Education, Interpersonal Skills & Knowledge Requirements
Experience
- A minimum of two years of employment experience at a credit union
- Interpersonal Skills Outstanding member service skills
- A significant level of trust, diplomacy, and collaboration is required.
- Effective verbal, written, and virtual communication skills
- Ability and willingness to identify and communicate observations
(opportunities, trends, member inquiry patterns, etc.) to supervisor
Job Skills
- Ability to operate a PC, keyboard, and 10-key adding machine for extended periods of time
- Experience with Office applications, online vendor websites, and email
- Ability to analyze, research, and resolve operational inquiries using available resources
Additional Requirement
Open Availability Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm; monthly staff meetings held after hours (30-60 minutes)
Physical Requirements & Environmental Surroundings
The physical requirements of this position are minimal lifting, a reasonable amount of sitting and standing at a workstation and at a computer screen. Good lighting, clean environment, free on-site parking. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Travel
Travel is rarely necessary for this position and would be local, if required
