Position Title: Data Analyst
Location: South Portland, ME
Reports To: Chief Operating Officer
Position Summary: The Data Analyst will utilize a generalist data analytics skillset to significantly impact S&W’s internal business reporting, generate quantitative research content, and improve CRM processes & data accuracy. This is an important role in the execution of several S&W strategic initiatives (inbound lead generation, creating & improving proprietary data sets, and modernizing business intelligence & reporting practices).
Key Responsibilities:
- (30%) In conjunction with the COO, analyze, summarize, & interpret large data sets for internal and external use using Excel, PowerBI, & PowerPoint
- (25%) Capture, clean, organize, & integrate open-source data into proprietary data sets for S&W research & marketing projects
- (25%) CRM – Report on end user adherence to CRM data entry standards & enhance historical data to reach this standard
- (10%) Performing one-off analyses at the request of the COO or S&W leadership
- (10%) Maintain an accurate & timely record of business metrics
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Business Analytics, etc.) or 2+ years of relevant job experience
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, R, etc.)
- Advanced Excel skills, including vlookup, pivot tables, and compound formulas (if, sumif, countif)
- Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
- Familiarity with PowerPoint for data presentation and reporting
Preferred Skills:
- Experience writing Python script for web scraping
- Basic knowledge of statistics and data visualization techniques
- Ability to work independently and juggle multiple initiatives simultaneously
