CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and facilitate the identification of key measures, data analysis, process improvement, and the implementation of redesigned processes for clinical and administrative functions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze current workflows, pinpoint inefficiencies, and design streamlined processes that enhance productivity and resource utilization.
- Utilize Lean Six Sigma and other process improvement methodologies to support multidisciplinary process improvement initiatives to enhance organizational effectiveness, improve quality, eliminate waste, ensure high level of patient care and satisfaction, and staff and clinician satisfaction and engagement.
- Take the lead in developing a standardized monitoring and reporting system to promote and support a continuous improvement framework; Identify and facilitate problem-solving activities to close system, process, and performance gaps.
- Utilize analytical and problem-solving skills to conduct root cause analysis, assess current business performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build and sustain mechanisms to ensure that learnings and best practices are shared organization-wide.
- Develop and lead an in-house Lean Six Sigma certification program.
- Coach and mentor staff at all levels on Lean Six Sigma methodologies, empowering them to actively participate in improvement initiatives and sustain gains over time.
- Be a curious and ambitious catalyst for change to promote a continuous improvement culture throughout InterMed in alignment with the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
- Collaborate with the data analytics team to develop an analytical framework to inform decision making and continuous improvement.
- Maintains strict confidentiality in alignment with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability) guidelines and InterMed policies.
- Perform other duties to support the mission, vision and values of InterMed.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably healthcare administration or industrial engineering or management information systems
- Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a lean practitioner in healthcare settings required.
- License/Certifications:
- Black Belt or Master Black Belt certification in Lean Six Sigma required for individuals who do not have a Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or management information systems.
- Direct experience working with clinical teams and providers in clinical practice operations.
- Excellent project management skills and the ability to anticipate operational challenges before they occur.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and partner with various stakeholders to implement projects or change initiatives of significant magnitude.
- Comfortable and skilled working in a collaborative manner with physicians, healthcare providers and management.
- Able to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong problem solver: confident with their ability to use independent judgment and discretion.
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written; able to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles
- Ability to make decisions using sound judgment.
- Strong computer skills; Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and electronic medical record.
