Director of Residence Life
SALARY RANGE: $55,214.87 - $72,042.91 commensurate with the agreement between the MCCS Trustees and the MEA Bargaining Unit, Level IV.

DESCRIPTION: Southern Maine Community College is seeking applications for a student affairs professional to join its expanding student and residence life programs. The Director of Residence Life is responsible for promoting a sense of community and an environment for personal growth within residence halls and through student activities and leadership programs on two campuses. This position manages the Residence Life program and housing operations as well as the three Resident Directors associated with it. This position serves on various college governance committees and is frequently asked to participate in ad hoc committees.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Student Affairs, Student Development, or related field from an accredited college or university
Desirable Qualifications
- Master of Science/Arts/Higher Education or Student Affairs Degree +3 years of related experience
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated experience with direct supervision of personnel
- Demonstrated experience with budget planning and oversight
- Management skills and demonstrated ability to work with individuals and organizations inside and outside the college community
- Communication and conflict resolution/intervention skills
- Proven ability to exercise superior judgment and discretion, as well as maintain integrity and confidences
- Demonstrated understanding of student safety and risk management residence halls
- Experience managing residence hall occupancy and room assignments
