The Role: Interventional Radiology Charge Nurse (RN)
The Opportunity:
MaineGeneral Health is offering an exciting opportunity for a Charge Nurse (RN) to join our Interventional Radiology Nursing Team at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta. This is a diverse role working in a state-of-the-art facility with highly-experienced teams, and a unique opportunity to work in specialty areas including: Radiology and the Cardiac Cath-Lab.
Position Highlights:
- Monday - Friday; 7:00 - 3:30
- NO weekends, nights, or holidays!
What You'll Do:
- Supervises and mentors nursing and support staff during assigned shifts. Determines staffing level and assignments based on staff availability, staff abilities, census, and patient acuity.
- Provides direct patient care as needed. Floats between staff to assist with problem-solving. May take patient assignments to meet staffing needs.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of patient care and identify any issues that affect desired patient outcomes. Responds to complaints about patient care and related services, and manages through established channels.
- Performs responsibilities of the underlying job, including coordinating transfers and performing admissions or discharges. Ensures staff has the necessary equipment and supplies to provide safe and effective patient care.
You Have:
- Active Maine RN licensure or ability to obtain same in a timely fashion, required
- Experience in Imaging Nursing is preferred
- Previous Charge Nurse experience preferred
- At least 2 years of RN experience, preferred
- ED, CCU, or Cath Lab, strongly preferred
- Prior experience with conscious sedation, helpful
- ACLS preferred upon hire
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills
- Proven and demonstrated autonomous critical thinking skills
