This is a full-time position located in Augusta. This opportunity allows partial telework with management approval.
Maine CDC’s Infectious Disease Epidemiology (ID Epi) Program is looking for a Grants and Contracts Coordinator. In this position, you will help oversee and manage the grants and associated contracts that support infectious disease surveillance. Your responsibilities will include coordinating with: staff working on deliverables, the Maine CDC Grants and Contracts team, the DHHS Service Center, and the Division of Contract Management. You will represent Maine CDC with contracted partners and will ensure that the ID Epi Program is meeting its federal obligations.
Core Responsibilities:
As a key member of the ID Epi team, your core responsibilities will include:
• Coordinate and participate in grant meetings
• Track grant deliverables and ensure on time reporting to federal CDC
• Monitor progress and ensure staff are meeting necessary timelines
• Identify barriers to progress and work to eliminate them
• Support grant writing and performance measure reporting
• Monitor contract status, timelines, and ending dates
• Draft new contracts, amendments, and modifications
• Review and process invoices
• Keep program director informed of any concerns that need escalation
• Participate in and contribute to overall Infectious Disease Epidemiology Program planning and evaluation activities.
• Additional duties as reasonably assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Public/Community Health, Health Administration, Health Sciences or Health Education; Public Administration, Government, Social Work, or a closely related field and three (3) years professional experience in the planning, development, coordination and/or evaluation of health programs or services -OR- an equivalent seven (7) year combination of education, training, and experience.
Preferred candidates will also have:
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to gather, synthesize, and summarize a variety of information
• Attention to detail and good time management skills
• The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse group of internal and external partners
• State Government procurement and contract management experience
• Experience with grants, particularly any experience with U.S. CDC grants
• The ability to be flexible and reprioritize during the workday
• The ability to work as part of a team AND be an independent self-starter
• Computer skills, including knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and finance software
