L.L.Bean is looking for curious, resourceful analysts and thinkers with strong quantitative reasoning skills and an appetite for applying those skills to L.L.Bean’s most important business questions.
Successful candidates will have some experience successfully designing and executing quantitative approaches to problems that involve the analysis of qualitative and quantitative data sets. They will have an opportunity to learn how L.L.Bean uses data analysis to understand our customers and provide them with outstanding experiences, to optimize our marketing efforts and to advance our brand mission of helping all people benefit from the rejuvenating power of the outdoors. Our analysts are enthusiastic about hands-on engagement with that data, going from raw rows to analysis to insights to storytelling and decision-support. This opportunity is technical and detail-oriented, but ultimately about engaging in and informing the strategic success of our 114-year-old company.
We’re looking for people with energy, strong quantitative thinking, a desire to learn new skills and approaches, and a track-record of doing whatever’s necessary to tackle a problem. Strong communications and some self-direction are critical, but we’re a supportive and team-driven environment of friendly analysts – if you’re interested in learning, selfless in your thinking, and ambitious about problem-solving, you’ll be in great company.

Responsibilities:
Performs moderately complex analysis of program/project, identifies trends and makes recommendations, supports test designs and analyses
Determine appropriate data sources and report designs to best meet information needs
Participates in projects such as media mix modeling, program testing, the development of marketing plans, and pricing promotions analytics
Additional duties as assigned
Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent
Years of Experience: 2+
Skills and Qualifications:
Demonstrated interest in marketing
Able to draw on principles, theories, concepts, and experience to determine course of action
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent computer skills with experience using the Microsoft Office Suite
Statistical analysis and test design
Effectively communicates (written & oral) to various organizational levels
Developing influencing skills in a business setting
Ability to work independently and manage shifting priorities
Driven to produce results
Ability to collaborate and work effectively on a team
