Describes menu and daily specials, takes orders, serves food and makes sure customers have everything they need to enjoy their meals. Responsible for coordinating entire station and communicating front- and back-of-house personnel to provide a dining experience that meets or exceeds guest expectations. Processes guest orders to ensure all items are prepared properly and on a timely basis. Observes dinners to ensure they are satisfied with food and service, responds to additional requests, and determines when the meal has been completed. Processes payment for guests. Stocks, removes and resets dishes and silverware between courses, and cleaning and resetting vacated tables.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Completes assigned side work.
• Sets up and breakdown/cleans server station and server section.
• Describe and answer any menu questions.
• Take guest orders and properly enter into the computer, times courses correctly and places items on hold when necessary.
• Provides excellent food and beverages service.
• Buses, cleans and resets tables.
• Completes additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
• Maintains all food safety and health code regulations.
TRAINING & MENTORINF (For Designated Trainers):
• Provides on-the-job training to new server staff, demonstrating proper procedures and techniques.
• Explains and reinforces restaurant policies and procedures, including reservation systems, seating charts, and customer service standards.
• Guides new hosts in developing effective communication and problem-solving skills.
• Offers constructive feedback and support to new hosts, helping them to improve their performance.
• Monitors and evaluates the progress of new hosts, providing regular updates to the Dining Room Manager.
• Lead by example, demonstrating consistently high standards of customer service and professionalism.
• Answer any questions new hires may have.
QUALIFICATIONS: Experience serving in a similar setting, time management skills, strong communication skills, excellent customer service skills.
