L.L.Bean is currently seeking a Fulfillment Analyst to support our fulfillment operations in Freeport, Maine. In this role you will be responsible for end-to-end translation of demand into executable plans across all planning timelines, ensuring operational readiness, efficient resources utilization, and continuous improvement. Facilitate plan execution, manage changes and adapt as necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Translate corporate demand forecasts, volume projections, and business strategy into operational plans for workflow, labor, and capacity across multiple planning horizons (next day, week, season, and year(s)).
- Perform moderately complex analyses and develop actionable insights to support Fulfillment Center labor planning, scheduling, hiring, and productivity decisions, making recommendations as appropriate.
- Convert unit forecasts into labor requirements, identifying staffing needs, skill mix, scheduling strategies, and hiring plans while accounting for operational constraints and service level targets.
- Coordinate and support day-of and week-of execution of Fulfillment operations by monitoring performance, labor utilization, and workflow against plan, intervening as necessary to achieve cost, productivity, and service goals.
- Work closely with operational departments to evaluate processes, identify constraints, and recommend improvements that enable work to be performed in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance reports and planning tools that clearly communicate plans, targets, results, and variances to Fulfillment leadership and cross-functional partners.
- Determine appropriate data sources, metrics, and report designs to ensure information is timely, accurate, and aligned with planning and execution needs.
- Provide context and communicate business conditions, planning assumptions, and strategic decisions to the broader Fulfillment organization, enabling informed operational decision-making.
- Assist in the development, preparation, and ongoing analysis of labor and operating budgets, aligning plans with business strategy, productivity targets, and financial goals.
- Define, recommend, and implement controls to ensure the quality, integrity, and consistency of planning data, forecasts, and reporting outputs.
- Develop and apply analytical techniques, models, and forecasting methods to support workforce planning, capacity planning, and evaluation of Fulfillment strategies.
- Act as a strategic thought partner to operational leaders by providing real-time decision support, scenario analysis, and trade-off recommendations during execution.
- Serve as a liaison with IS, Maintenance, Engineering and other support teams to ensure planning systems, operational systems, data integrations, and effectively support Fulfillment operations.
- Recommend and help develop administrative procedures and standard processes for the operation of planning, scheduling, and analytical systems.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of planning methodologies, assumptions, analytical models, and system enhancements.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry best practices, analytical techniques, workforce planning tools, and operational planning methodologies relevant to Fulfillment and supply chain operations.
- Perform additional planning, analytical, and research projects as required to support evolving business needs and strategic initiatives.

Skills and Qualifications:
- BA/BS required
- 3+ years of relevant experience required
- History of progressive analytical experience
- Demonstrated expertise in applying analytical techniques and tools and statistical modeling methods
- Excellent computer skills with the ability and desire to learn new systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Production and results oriented
- Attention to detail
- This positions requires occasional, but planned, weekend and off-shift work.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
